In the heart of San Rafael, Mexico City, l'ostia delivers a vibrant culinary experience that honors both Mexican and Spanish traditions. Nestled on Serapio Rendón Street, this charming spot invites guests to savor authentic dishes in a warm and inviting atmosphere that harks back to the streets of Italy.
The menu strikes a perfect balance between classic Mexican desayuno offerings and rich Spanish tapas. Brunch here is a highlight, with traditional plates elevated by thoughtful extras that keep every bite exciting. The Benedict comes highly recommended for its delicate flavors, while the jamón, croquetas, and patatas bravas paint a true picture of Spain’s culinary soul. Their selection of beverages, including the coveted Estrella Galicia, complements the food perfectly, making it a rare gem for fans of Spanish beer.
Walking into l'ostia feels like stepping into another world. The charming architecture and carefully curated ambiance combine to create a picturesque setting that enhances the dining experience. Though the neighborhood teems with similar restaurants, the warmth of the service here provides a distinct welcome — even if improvements could smooth out the occasional wait and confusion among hosts.
Overall, l'ostia is a must-visit for anyone seeking a blend of Mexican sensibilities with the authentic zest of Spanish cuisine. It’s a place where tapas and breakfast coexist seamlessly, where the food tastes as genuine as its vibrant atmosphere feels genuine. “ It's a picturesque location. Brunch was very good. Standard Mexican desayuno dishes with some interesting extras. ”
“ Great place highly recommend, the food is amazing, the atmosphere super cool!! The service was really satisfying in general. I loved it!!! ”
“ The Benedict was good. The service and ambiance are great. Be aware there are 3 different restaurants in the same area. It can be confusing what host is representing the different restaurants. ”
“ Great place to have some tapas and a few drinks. They have a great menu of Spanish dishes. Had some Jamon, croquetas and patatas bravas. Everything tasted great and was as close to authentic as you can get outside of Spain. One of the few places where I’ve been able to find Estrella Galicia. The building is beautiful, it really feels like you’re in the streets of Italy. Used to be the Italian embassy. ”
“ awesome food, service needs some improvement . there is a waiting list but it's worth it ”
